Fixing the Black Screen on Scene Switch¶

In the GStreamer source properties in OBS, untick "Stop pipeline when hidden". If you still get brief black frames, add a leaky queue:

Diagnosing the Monochrome ThinkPad Webcam¶

List camera devices:

v4l2-ctl --list-devices

Check supported formats on each node, replacing N with the device number:

v4l2-ctl -d /dev/videoN --list-formats

Get more detail on a specific node:

v4l2-ctl -d /dev/videoN --info

The colour sensor usually supports MJPG or YUYV. The IR sensor usually only supports a greyscale format. Once you find the colour node, select it in OBS under the Video Capture Device source properties.
